Had a delicious meal at the food court in Joongboo market. We ate at KGrill and had the shrimp platter and kalbi platter along with kimchi cheese fries. Everything was so so good and cooked well. The kalbi was well marinated and so tender. It was served over rice with a side of salad. The shrimp had 10 huge pieces that were crispy. No matter what I order at the food court, I will probably always get kimchi fries at KGrill bc they are so addicting!! The table next to us got the bulgogi bowl and cheesesteak sandwich that looked incredible! Will def come back to try more things.

I was surprised with the quality of food at this food court restaurant. The spicy pork was delicious and chicken was tender. It was better than most full service Korean restaurants. Trust me, try it out.

K Bowls, K Platters, and kimchi fries are must haves! Burger and cheesesteak are very flavorful and great additions to the menu.

We were excited to check out the new food court at Joong Boo Market in Schaumburg, and it does not disappoint. There are plenty of different food counters on offer, with your choice of baked goods, drinks, dessert, pho, katsu, dumplings, and assorted Korean entrees.

I believe all but two of the counters have a touch screen where you place your order and pay. Then, you can find a seat at one of the many tables. They will text you (or buzz you) once your order is ready to pick up.

My husband got the pork katsu curry from MiMi Katsu, which he loved. Meanwhile, I decided to give K Grill Korean BBQ a try.

I knew I wanted to try the galbi (marinated beef short rib), but the meat platter was a bit pricy. I decided to get the galbi on a rice bowl instead, but once I added all of my toppings (along with 3 dumplings...) it cost at least as much as the platter would have. Which, makes this a good time to warn, just because this is a food court, don't think you will get out of here without a gut punch to the wallet!

That said, the food was amazing! The meat was so flavorful and tender. As much as my husband was loving his katsu, he had to take a moment to commend my choice of food. We'll definitely be craving it again soon. I think next time I will just spring for the galbi meat platter to make sure we get even more of the good stuff. Which is not a knock against the rice bowl at all. It featured two sauces of your choice, and various vegetable accompaniments, which you can add or subtract as you please. It was like an elevated version of a Bibibop bowl (or, more accurately I guess, Bibibop is more like the Chipotle version of this).

FYI, I am glad I asked about tap water at the counter, because while K Grill was able to give me a couple small cups of filtered water, it doesn't look like there is any water on tap for guests at the food court. So, make sure to get it when you pick up your food!

This place is absolutely amazing, not just for the quality of the food but also for the warmth and generosity of the people. We visited this food court with four kids right before the New Year, and almost all the stalls were either closed or closing. The only option seemed to be the dumpling place, which was a bit disappointing. However, the owner of this grill place went above and beyond by generously offering us delicious, high-quality food free of charge. Their kindness made the experience unforgettable!

Checked out the new food court at Joong Boo Schaumburg today. We chose K Grill and glad we did! Definitely exceeded my expectations. We ordered a K Bowl with spicy pork (bibimbap), the K Cheesesteak, and the kimchi cheese fries. All three were delicious. The meats were well marinated with lots of Korean flavor, tender, perfectly cooked. Portions were good for the price and I can tell they use quality meat and ingredients. I also like that there is a good blend of traditional and fusion menu items depending on what you are in the mood for. I'll be coming back to try their galbi platter.
